Layered light in fifteen minutes: three lamps that change everything

If your room feels fine at noon and flat at seven, the culprit is almost never paint — it is missing layers of light.

Start with a clear job for each source

  • One general wash (overhead or a tall floor lamp that throws wide).
  • One task or reading layer beside seating.
  • One low glow for evenings — a small table lamp or picture light.

Swap bulbs to the same warm temperature across fixtures so the layers blend instead of competing.
